State of the game 2/15/23

Dev talk? Dev talk. The dev can talk.

Heyo, Dev Amnesia here. I was kinda of not expecting this to get such support or interest, so I was a little surprised and heavily overwhelmed when Lala showed me how much traction this has been getting. First, thank you all for being so up and up on questions, ideas, and all around curiosity. I'm glad your all excited about this and it's wild to see such a strong positive response.

Now, updates on A Forest Tail:

As for the current state of the game: it's finally smoothing out. As many of you noticed, this is being coded in RPG Maker MV. It has since been moved to RPG Maker MZ due to hitting a very low ceiling of capabilities that MV has. MZ is the newest version of RPG Maker and has a lot more room for customization and the like. Moving the project was a lot more difficult than expected and the main reason is due to the amount of custom plugins we have. Getting those moved over and set back up proved to be a major pain. We are now basically about where we were with MV(old version) but now with MZ(updated version). This may sound like a lot of mumbo jumbo, so just as summary know that we have every intention of making this a game like no other of it's genre. Doing so required a bit of investment in time and also money. We have made it over the hill and it's going to be a nice coast from here. Oh, Lala and I are trying to prevent from showing you too much of the scenes she's made. It will be worth the wait once you experience them in game, just trust me.

Things to look forward to:

I'm taking classes for Javascript(RPG maker uses this language) right now so that I can continue implementing ideas and things that you have all talked about with Lala. We are listening to you, btw. Anyways, future is bright with new zones, new scenes and multiple endings will be possible through your actions in game. Kind of exciting right?? I do believe so. Beyond that, I'm finished with my classes in about a month so there will be far more frequent updates after that's over.
